What is Alpha?
Alpha is an introductory and refresher course in the Christian Faith when we watch a talk on DVD, followed by refreshments and then an opportunity to discuss and raise questions ( nobody has to say anything, nor do you need to know anything about the bible).
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in an informal, fun and friendly environment. The Alpha course consists of a series of talks, looking at topics including 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why and how do I pray?'
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.
When is Alpha ?
Alpha courses usually run a couple of times each year as demand dictates. The course is also the preparation course for adults who are wishing to be confirmed.
Our New Alpha Course - our next course begins with the Introductory evening on Monday 20th February at the Old Grammar School at 8 p.m. The course itself will begin on Wednesday 14th March.
Youth Alpha
This is aimed at young people of secondary school age and a new course will be starting shorly. This is for any young people preparing for confirmation as well as for any others who are interested in taking part.
